CLATCSA 2025 – Guidelines for Presentations, Posters, and Book Sessions
The Latin American Congress on Social and Environmental Sciences (CLATCSA 2025), incorporating the XXIV Polish–Mexican Symposium and the V Polish–Colombian Symposium, invites participants to prepare their contributions in accordance with the following guidelines. These apply to oral presentations, academic posters, and book presentation sessions. The information below is intended to ensure a smooth and professional experience for all presenters and attendees.
Congress Languages
The official languages of the congress are Spanish, Portuguese, and English. Participants are welcome to present in any of these languages. To improve accessibility and communication across the diverse international audience, we encourage presenters to provide materials (slides, summaries) in at least two of the official languages whenever possible.
Oral Presentations
Format & Technical Requirements
- Presentations should be prepared in PDF or PowerPoint (PPT) format. The preferred slide aspect ratio is 16:9, horizontal.
- Presenters will have access to standard audiovisual equipment (computer, projector).
- Please ensure your presentation is tested on standard equipment.
Language
- Presentations may be delivered in Spanish, Portuguese, or English.
- If possible, presenters are encouraged to prepare bilingual slides, especially for key content such as titles, conclusions, and main arguments.
Slide Design Recommendations
- Use large, legible fonts (minimum 24 pt for body text).
- Maintain a clear, uncluttered layout: aim for one idea per slide.
- Avoid excessive blocks of text. Use bullet points and visuals.
Poster Presentations
Specifications
- Please provide the printed poster to the organizers at the registration desk, the first day of the Congress. The technical specifications: A1 format (594 mm × 841 mm), vertical (portrait) orientation.
Language and Content
- Posters may be prepared in any of the official congress languages.
- Multilingual posters are strongly encouraged (e.g. Spanish + English or Portuguese + English).
Posters should include the following elements:
- Title and names/affiliations of all authors,
- Introduction or research background,
- Objectives or research questions,
- Methodology,
- Key findings (supported by visuals),
- Conclusions,
- References (if applicable),
- Contact information (email address, institutional website, or QR code),
Design Recommendations:
- Use clear headings, readable fonts, and high-contrast colors,
- Structure your poster to guide the reader through the content,
- Prioritize visual communication over text: use graphs, images, and diagrams.
Book Presentations
Format
- Authors or editors may present their books in the form of short talks or informal moderated sessions.
- Presenters may use slides to highlight the book’s main arguments, structure, and academic contributions.
- Alternative formats such as dialogues or Q&A discussions are also welcome.
Language
- Presentations may be delivered in Spanish, Portuguese, or English.
- To enhance accessibility, presenters are encouraged to provide a brief summary in a second official language.
Content Suggestions
- Introduce the book’s core themes, scope, and objectives.
- Provide background on the author(s) and the context of publication.
- Highlight the book’s relevance to ongoing academic or social debates.
- Include opportunities for interaction or questions from the audience.
Supporting Materials
- Presenters may share digital materials, such as an excerpt, summary, or visual flyer (in PDF format).
- Information on where and how to access or purchase the book may be included.
General Information
Further technical details will be communicated to all presenters by the end of April 2025. The suggested length of the presentation/ book presentation will be announced by mid’May.
