Workshop – Excursion

Beyond the bustling cities of Warsaw and Kraków lies a Poland full of hidden gems and rich traditions. This year, we would like to take you on a journey through rural Poland and show you the richness of local folklore.

We will take you to the area of the former Duchy of Łowicz, where folk culture is still very much alive today. You will be able to experience this during the Corpus Christi celebrations, by watching the uniquely and beautifully decorated religious procession.

The town of Łowicz, which is the capital of the region, unlike most towns in the area, avoided major wartime destruction. As a result, it has preserved its original architecture and urban layout. Particularly noteworthy are several churches, including the cathedral basilica, the Piarist church, and the Church of St. Leonard.

We will also visit the open-air museum in Maurzyce, featuring an ethnographic exhibition that presents a 19th-century “Księżak” village.

We’ll also get to see the world’s first welded road bridge, built in 1929. The trip will end with a visit to the Kampinos Forest, where we’ll explore the beauty of Polish nature.
